Painting custom figures is a daunting idea for newcomers. "Am I going to tamper with something I spent a lot of money on? Will I mess it up and be upset?" Well here's a fun thread for budding custom makers in training. Buy yourself a Playmobil Colour set, and do some low stakes customs we can all enjoy! Who says customs need to only be for the most talented artists?

Branch out and buy a Colour set that you may not have bought otherwise, and support a Playmobil line that's really fun if you give it a chance!

The only rules that apply are the following.

#1: Drawings must comply to the forum rules, so don't be crude with your doodles.
#2: You may only use items included in the Playmobil Colour sets. You are allowed to use markers from any colour set on any colour set figure.

Don't worry if you don't have any colour sets ready, as I'll be keeping the thread active for a little while by updating with new sets as I buy them. There's no contest involved or anything, so just have fun with it and post what you can! Here's a starting example to get things started.

Here's the other Colour set I bought, with the idea of an athlete representing both America and Canada, seeing as how people love to lump us together as "North America". Funny how that doesn't apply to sports, eh? In case it isn't already clear, I'm a proud Canadian. :)

"True North" in this case being a reference to our national anthem, and a jab at America. ;D For those unfamiliar with Canadian and American culture, we tend to poke fun at each other, but we're cool with it.

What is "White Spot" a reference to?

"White Spot" is a restaurant unique to British Columbia, and it serves high quality versions of fast food type foods. So you can get really good bacon cheeseburgers, or french fries, or chicken strips, or chicken sandwiches, and other such things. It's a proper sit down restaurant though, and the quality is basically what you've always wished fast food places were. It's a really great place to eat, and was the closest Canadian chain I could compare to the incredibly American "Fatburger".

It's not very well known online unless you're from B.C, but I went for it anyways. :)
