You can see faces of the distant ancestors of klickies in the corner of one box!

Its possible that Hans Beck worked on that too since he was already working at the company before being tasked with inventing Playmobil.

"Build me an army of clickies, worthy of Geobra" instead of "build me an army worthy of mordor."

Forgive me for taking over your thread, but here are some photos of pre-Playmobil Geobra  I took on my trip to Germany 2014.
Keep in mind they worked in tin / sheet metal prior to switching to plastics in the 1950s.

From the museum in Zirndorf:

I would totally love to have one of these shop sets

One of the things I find coolest is when they made something in other materials decades ago that they have since produced in Playmobil like this tower crane:

From the displays in the upper level of the HOB Center at the Funpark in Zirndorf

The hula hoop was their first big hit in plastic, they were the first to produce it in Germany in the 50s

Love this display - the recent glider showing an old version they made in plastic and then a really old version they made in wood

Thanks for sharing, macruaran and Tiermann. I find that early Geobra logo (children's faces) really interesting- I wonder if Hand Beck was inspired by the simplicity of those faces when he designed the first klickies?
Anyone have more images of Geobra's pre-PM offerings?

This might be Geobra (sorry if the ebay link has expired by the time you read this):
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-Vintage-Playmobil-Geobra-Tricycle/331576624001?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D31488%26meid%3D95e1ba65631d471fb94271403a63c9f2%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D321777073668

I can't find it in Produktarchiv or anywhere else!
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

I don't, I'm sorry. I don't even remember how I stumbled on that page, as I don't know French!

Thanks for the excellent pictures Tiermann! I find it interesting how many of their "toys" were actually accurately detailed, functioning versions of adult items.

I find that early Geobra logo (children's faces) really interesting- I wonder if Hans Beck was inspired by the simplicity of those faces when he designed the first klickies?

I would be willing to bet that he deliberately used those faces as The Klicky Face, due to their having been the official logo of geobra. I mean, there's more than just a resemblance, it's an almost exact copy.
