Why is this!!??
« on: March 13, 2007, 09:30:23 »
Recently i traded this scaffolding with someone.
Why? Because my houses needed a paint job :)

When i received the envelop i quickly put it together and found that it had more slots and tabs than i expected!!

When you look at the photo you'll see what i mean and now i would like to know what's the use for these slots and tabs on top and on the sides of the grey parts???

That's the old style scaffolding which I've only ever seen before in photos or catalogues.  As to the slots, it looks as if a ladder (the sort at the end of the scaffolding in your picture) might slot into them.  If it does, as there seems to be two sets of slots on each length of scaffolding board, it would allow you to set up an extra but slightly shorter height of scaffolding.

The rounded part on the outside of the slot means one thing to me and that is hand grips.

Try and get four of your builders to grip the board and carry it , I'm sure thats what the slots are for.

Sharp eyes there, Gary.  I hadn't noticed that curve to the side.

I wonder of they might serve both purposes?

Why not, the slot could have more than one use.

The only image I have of this scaffold in use is from the back of the old space station box 3536, I think it's a really neat set up.

Thanks for the update, Rob, and the excellent picture showing the slots in use.
