Victorian town - all aboard!
« on: January 03, 2014, 14:17:57 »
Hello dear Playmofriends!

The past few months I've finally been able to buy the 4300 train station (has been on my wish list since forever) and I also found a cheap small Victorian house (5305). That set me off, of course  :)  I also got the 4297 gazebo and some sets from Sylvanian families which I think fit in with the Rosa series very well.

It's been a busy few weeks and now I'm very happy to present my latest project: a Victorian town   :gent:  :sherlock:   :chef:   :hatoff:

Here are some pictures of the preparations:

Once again, the living room is now half its size to make room for the diorama  ;D

Sorting out clickies and customizing some of them was a lot of fun:

The lay-out always is a bit of a puzzle. There's never enough space! This is what it looked like before the details were put into place:

More photo's coming soon!

looks like it is comming along very nice. I like the distinction between the road, streets and yards. Is that paper or ?
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

The white pavements are wallpaper (which I've used before in other diorama's), the road is thin cardboard with a road printed on (from a model train shop, but the scale is a lot smaller than Playmobil, alas). The material for the yards I found in that same shop, it's brown paper with greenish stuff on top.

It's all finished, so here's the result:

There's a train station, a park, a market and some fancy houses, but there's also a hotel and an orphanage.

In the background you can see a valet in front of the hotel.

I found a mistake: one of the kids is wearing an iphone. Just kidding...

Nice scenes! Well done!

I also got an old tv set and refridgerator, but it turns out those things weren't invented yet at that point. Bummer

well that is one bustling town you created, so much to see and so many things busily going on. I think it looks really sharp with the scenic additions you added. It just gives it that finished look to a diorama and does not take away from the beauty. The grass you chose looks like it is easy to stand a klicky on. The stuff I used was to annoying. I need to find the stuff your using

I  like your idea of using the christmas star holders for the stage coach lantern holders. We used them on the christmas train for the corner markers.

The mistake I found was a kid wearing his hat backwards,  :hehe:
