I stumbled across this yesterday while doing some very unrelated research for a paper (funny how we seem to have tendencies to somehow get off the beaten track when we have to do things we do not really want to have to do ...).
I thought they were quite good and may be a source of inspiration for those on here interested in pirates.
These are part of an exhibition that is currently underway in Milwaukee (at the Public Museum) until May 27, so if anyone is near and wants to see artifacts from a real pirate ship:

These pictures are a treasure indeed. They remind me of the illustrations I remember when reading Treasure Island and Kidnapped as a boy. Thanks so much for posting them. Wish I lived closer to Milwaukee.

Those paintingsare really beautiful whoever did them clearly had a good eye and plenty of talent
