definitely not just you! I'd imagine that's most people's thought!  I'm sure it didn't hurt the sales to appeal to any Beatles loving parents/adults.

The race cars are a fun line but it's maybe a step too far for my collection. I must have some restraint. Do they have the pullback mechanism like the quad racers do?

Nice work getting the fairy sets! They seem to be very popular, as I had trouble finding mine for retail a while back. I think they may be popular even beyond Playmobil enthusiasts, since they're sold out most places you look online. The Fairy with Fawn set in particular was a pain to track down for the normal price. (She's the blonde one)

I'm still looking for the pink Princess with the yellow unicorn. I don't want to encourage you to overspend, but the Beauty and the Beast Disney Princess set is a nice Princess set too.

I can understand why the fairy sets are popular - they're really lovely. I lucked out & got 70401, 70402, 70403 & 70127 + the incomplete 6741 house set for £5 (+ postage) a couple of years ago, & then had to go buy 70400 new to complete the (then) fairy sets & figured WTH & go the bucket set too. 

Is the Beauty & the Beast one you mentioned 71458 Belle's Tower?  (It's sweet but not really my cuppa!) I do really want the new Tinkerbell set that is coming out though, & I'm trying not to look at the Winnie the Pooh sets because they are *adorable*.

70127 Princess with Unicorn

& 9389 Castle with Stackable Towers

9389 I got secondhand & cheap & it sadly came without the cat, horse & bluebird, but at least I have other magical animals to populate it.  I think the Princess from 70127 is more interested in the 9389 castle & prince, & the lady from 9389 is more interested in the magical animals, but where the Prince's heart lies only time will tell..
