I don't think they look like they're hunting deer... To me they look like soldiers...

I think so too; they remind me somewhat of WW II German paratroopers in snow-uniforms...
Especially the hat 3 of them are wearing, that one comes real close to the original, except for the colour. What set(s) is it from?
