I crunched the numbers and figured that paying the premium for "known" figures that I wanted would cost a little less than just buying the cases... and if i bought the cases I'd have 96 figures with accessories for customizing instead of the 30-40 i would have if i had just gotten the ones i wanted... so I will probably continue to buy cases.

As far as trading these goes I think the best way would be simply to post what we have extra in the trading section... possibly in a sub-board for fi?ures... and then if people are interested they can PM the details rather than having it be a "for sale" thread... be a I have these fi?ures extra... wink wink
Someday, I will organize my stuff, I promise.

I'm sure the displays are dealer-owned, as usual... in other words, when they are finished, they have to send them back to playmobil, and can't keep or sell them.

I think the best idea yet is if they would sell a full set of each series online so a collector who wants one of each could get at least that. There are a few I really don't want, like the witch, but parts of them would be useful for customizing. it would be the easiest way for us to get them all. Doesn't help with building armies, though.

A "store" appears to get a box containing the fi?ures, which pops open and is the display. If anyone is dying for a pink or blue or both, let me know as I think they recycle/dispose of  them here. They would be costly to mail because the boxes are not small, but if someone is determined to have them, we can wrap them and send them.

If you want a complete box of fi?ures, they will order that too, and I can send it from here to wherever. Will someone who has a full box please post the weight and dimensions, and I'll get you a shipping quote later this week. Sales tax is 7.5 per cent here in NC. Price is 2.99USD per fi?ure unless they raise it.

My heart goes out to folks in remote places after having lived many years in Alaska (yup, it has been a part of the US for over 50 years), Micronesia and Saudi Arabia. And this was before widespread service by Fedex and overnight or any remotely fast parcel service or the internet. At least shipping is relatively fast and much cheaper these days than before.

Cheers, Pgal

i like the idea to make a pattern which can actually followed by. i was lucky that i really got only what i wanted to get.. at the first series...

the ones in august will be easy too.. only intressted in the english soldier and the liberty statue.. but it would be easier for adults to get what they want..

i dont think that kids are very happy to have doubles, triples or whatever from the same figure.. (difficult to swap parts and create different ones) :)

No body likes doubles if they are not building army....but this surprise factor is what brings additional revenue for playmobil. This whole issue is too complicated....and all we can do is keep ranting till geobra listens to us. :hmm: :P :hmm: :P

hahaha! If you would weigh the empty box with dividers if you have them, I can weigh x figures to get an idea. Also do you have the dimension of the box? Just trying to get an estimate of its size and weight for mailing. How many figs were in a box? I can find all twelve of each if I look deep enough and then multiply the weight.

Or if someone has a shipping label for a full case, it will show the weight! That does sound a lot easier, doesn't it!

Thanks, Pgal

Well, as shown on the PROCESS, the playmocrate had more than just the 2 figures boxes... ;)

The cases we got had 4 of each... so, 48. I don't exactly remember WHERE I put the boxes... anyways, can't look before the weekend :(

What scales do you guys use? I have no idea if there are precise enough scales that are also.. discreet enough  :-[

This kind would be very discreet: http://www.amazon.com/US-Balance-US-First-Class-Digital/dp/B000MRIKE4

You're not crazy... you can't see that section yet. Once you exceed a set number of posts, you'll be able to see it.
