Playmobil "FunStores"?
« on: November 25, 2011, 21:13:22 »
Well, let me just say that they are great!
But, I brought this thread up because I'm unhappy with where they've placed the outlets. The New Jersey one was located in a mall in the middle of nowhere, and the Playmobil Canada retail outlet is located in an industrial park! After visiting the Lego Store in Rockefeller Plaza, New York, I was left imagining what a Playmobil Store in that location would be like. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that Playmobil should place their stores in more central locations - in cities such as New York, Toronto, Berlin...
Thoughts or ideas?

I think Baton Rouge, LA would be my favorite place for one. ;D

Wow! I totally agree!

The Lego store at Rockefeller Center is a brilliant location....everyone going to NYC sees that store because it is right next to their lovely Christmas tree and ice skating rink. We love visiting there! Can you imagine what a PM store would be like at that location?

Our favorite NYC non-museum place is the American Girls Doll Store....they have a lovely tea service where you can borrow a doll and take her to tea. Take your camera because you will shoot a lot of photos in this place, which is incredibly entertaining. Last visit we left 700USD poorer, but it was an absolute blast! And daughter in law loves her new Ivy Ling doll. It is good that we only had boys because it is hard enough not buying everything in the entire store! The displays are heavenly! Pgal

We were going to move to NYC last year, and we made six visits. We're not going to move over there anymore, but we're planning one more visit before New Year. Visiting the big apple is really a fun place to visit.

Whoops, off topic. :-[

Not really off topic because we are discussing the need for a PM store in Manhattan, which is the primo location in the eastern US for high end products. That is quite a hole in their store line up as far as I am concerned. Without a store in Manhattan, they miss a lot of wealthy shoppers who could afford PM.
I would locate a PM store either at Rockefeller Center a la L or next door to the American Girls Store, Pgal

I can see it now.....

Celebrity parents being chased by the news media as they enter with the children into the grand opening of the all-new NYC Funpark. And I'm sure if word got out, Playmobil would be recognized on all the morning shows that are based in NYC.
