Having it near BB might be a good idea, since his would be the hardest to transport. I'd have a lot to transport too, but there's two of us and we've got a van, and everything is very organized so it could be done... assuming we had the time and money to travel at the time. Plus SC is a pretty central point along the East coast.
I've been thinking if/when one of these shows eventually gets done that there could be a small/mini-diorama or custom figures section. Something where people from other parts of the country who can't attend in person could mail their display with some set-up photos and someone at the show could set them out. It would increase the amount of apparent involvement and give people farther away a chance to take part.
This is an excellent idea! I saw a picture of a showacse of customs at some exhibition somewhere, so we could do something like that, with the names of their creators by them. And the small dioramas could be set up by collectors who live in the area and would like to come but don't really have a diorama to set up themselves.
And of course the dioramas don't have to be on the level of some of the huge exhibitions we see in Europe. Just as long as they are creative and original enough to be something interesting to look at, each dio doesn't have to be massively huge.
