Actually, MacGayver is member #41 over at GW-PC! ... ;)
(We are now at member #746 ... we have thrown out almost 600 undesirable members!)

So, as you can see, there is a lot of sharing between the different groups ... :)

In my opinion MacGayver is very good, but I think, Jimmy, that you may have "raised the bar" with your beautiful Samurai warrior ... ;)

(However, I'm sure that Michael loves the competition) ... ;)

Feel that in creativity , there's no need for competition

Think we each have our own way of bringing something
I prefer getting inspired by eachother  ;)

I really don't know if I could make decent "original parts only" customs. My brain doesn't seem to be able to envision those, so I appreciate those customs. I do make them now and again, but mine aren't very interesting. I always want to paint or chop and glue something  ;D Another nice thing about OPO customs is that they can be played with, moved around and such without breaking. My few customs are only good for show and tell.

You are absolutely correct, Michael ...

Even "friendly" competition is no where near as positive and constructive as creative inspiration.

I totally agree with you, Mr. MacGayver (and, apologize for my thoughtless comment).

After reading what you wrote, and reexamining what I really believe, I have to say,
"It is much better to share and build than it is to compete and destroy!"

I enjoy both "display" as well as "play" customs.  As you browse through the Garden Wargaming website you will see plenty of both.

For example, David Hamer has been very prolific in creating "display" figures of all types, while Ralf Gemein, on the other hand, has been equally prolific in creating many different kinds of "play" figures.

Both Ralf and David have created some really fantastic custom figures! In my opinion, both are wonderful to see!

All of my own customs have been "play" figures because that's who I am and that's what I like to make. However, I am very fortunate to have some of David's "display" figures in my collection!

So, to make "display" or "play" seems to really be a personal preference. I'm sure that there are some collectors who make both.
