Damo: I love drums http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_kloG2Z7tU

cheng, the only drum I have available is in the funpark diorama so I can't measure it, and the other one is still in a sealed box... somewhere in the MIB sets... But yes the aboriginal drum fits in this old indian drum. I doubt I have another free but I'll have a look around.

WOH!! I must check out these Mr.Bean clips
(I thought I have seen all his tv series many many times and apart from his movies, there are no others...I didnt realise there are such sketches available on u-tube! Thanks WK!)

dont worry about measuring them...I hope we are not facing yet another communication problem...you see, when you say "the aboriginal(zebra skin) drum fits in this old (3732) indian drum"....do you mean the zebra-skin drum is smaller and fits into the back of the 3732 drum? (lets settle this bit before Damo faints)

Dear Elaine, your photo are very clear....
I think the harness peg looks horizontal while the diver's tank is vertical so the pegs of the diver's harness wont fit into the drum I'm afraid (do you happen to have a diver's vest?)

so very kind of you to offer your spare clown's drum and harness, please just hold on to them, I doubt DS still has them...its too expensive for you to post them to me. Only as a last resort will I ask for them ;)
and only if you can give me your most scratched drum & harness, since I will be covering the clown stickers & psraying the harness brown :P
(alternatively, I can mail you a pair of drum sticks)

do you have the zebra skin aboriginal drumskin (or this same mould indian drum skin)?
can you compare the size with your old indian single-sided drum?

(I'm glad we are using slow indian drum beats to communicate..WK might enjoy it but Damo wont last that long )

Yes Cheng, the harness peg is horizontal.
I might have a diver with a harness, but I'm not sure, I'll have to look, but I do have the zebra drum, I'll try and find it - I think it's in my 'jungle' tub, and check the size of it for you later today.

The pegs on the diver suit are vertical... well actually, it's two pegs, one on top of the other, though each peg is actually horizontal. The one I'm looking at is blue, but I have it in several colors, and they're all the same. Tomorrow I can try to find a yellow one and take a pic if you need it, if no one else has yet.

thanks Elaine!
yes, do take an arial photo so I can compare their diameters ;)

and thanks too BB!
I can visualise what you described...so its confirmed then that the diver harnesses wont hold the drum without some cutting (not as difficult as SpeedoDad's torso) but might not hold tightly enough so its better for me to get the drum harness
(no need to photograph your yellow diver harness

(you ladies have no reservations in feeding this customiser-of-violence? ;D :P)

  No reservations at all!

Yeah, the pegs are much narrower on the diver harness, so I don't think there's much hope of it holding the drum.

oh, thats good news WK! so I shall get 2 of those big half-drums to make a japanese Taiko drum...even if it means getting 2 green tiger pedestals and spraying them red! (brown is fine but if i'm spraying them might as well give them to my blood-red ashigarus ;D......our ladies here will support customisers of blood-red samurais ;)

I didn't manage to get to the zebra drum cheng because I needed help in lifting the box, but all the able bodied men here were too busy to help  :'(
However, I checked on postage prices and the clown harness and drum would only cost £2.07 to send to Malaysia, so I think it would be cheaper than trying to get one through ds, even if it were possible.  The clown and circus signs on the drum are only stickers so will remove easily.

hey Elaine, (since KW has confirmed the single-sided old drums are bigger than the zebra-skin) your able-bodied men dont have to do your bidding later on ;D although it means youre no cleopatra at home ;D you might have to work on your queen-control skills ;D

Usually I will bunch up my DS orders and patiently wait but we both agree that these old parts are most probably no longer available.

Parcel posts to UK coats me £7.16 for the first 250g (thereafter every 250 g is only £1.54) 8}

I guess you mean sending them as 'documents' but our post office does not have those standard bubble-packed envelopes and if I made one myself I wonder if our Post office has the right to 'feel' my envelope and reject it in the mail room. (asking at the counter feels silly because our post office are usually with long queues and manned by 'machines' who cant deal with anything out-of-the-ordinary :P)

I really feel we should exchange...its fun and necessary and for me to sleep well so will PM (or we'll be out-of-topic) you later :P
