Hello Playmofriends,

ok after this hot discuss about the poor quality i was yesterday at my near toystore to make my own picture from the poor Playmobil quality !!!

REPORT !!

Ok i got 2 Sets the 4271 legionaries and the 4278 catapult !

I open the Box and the bags and built my first Figures !

I must say i saw nothing..........NOTHING from poor Quality !

Perfekt print on the figures !
All Figure Stand very good no shaky heads !
I cant see any problems with the flag of the Roman Standard.

The catapult shoots very nice and hard (if you push hard) i love it, i go next week and buy some more for my Vikings !! 

The one thing i must say the Ballista dont shoot a long strong way.
But they looks very cool !!

The problem was not the quality , here in germany there are a new law (2003) about weapons, the toy weapon (with spring) must have a beginning shoot energy from under 0,08 Joule !
Thats very hard for the Designers from toyweapons so Playmobil must find a way to shoot the Ballista softly !
There are no gum or spring to shoot the spears !
You must push the Ballista !

Shame that the new law prevents the new eapons being as authentic as they might, but I'm sure fans will soon figure a way round that!

Good to hear that the quality problem is probably just affecting a minority of buyers.

The sets look great, and the standard of printing and detail must set new records even for Playmobil.

i can't understand this legal worry about the toy-gun's power when you are speaking about playmobil.
my only experience is with the pirate cannons.
the cannonbals are so light there is no way you can hurt someone, whatever the speed might be (well, not quite, but we are talking about normal springs, that children can arm).
riding a bycicle can produce much more hurting "joules" than a playmobil gun.
i guess there are a lot of guys in the german government that have nothing to do and need to justify their existence this way (i thought this was solely a portuguese problem).

the romans are a great family - too bad i am only into pirates.

it is true, i could start to collect romans.
i have a feeling, though, that if i do, it won't stop there.
fortunately the new pirate releases are fullfilling the the urge for more playmobil sets.
