 :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: what do you mean? what has this to do with the collectors? they don't want to sell? why the buissness then? i don't know too many questions and no answer.weird in genural ..     8}

Oil is the raw material for making many plastics, and therefore for making Playmobil.
The scarcer and/or expensiver oil-supplies become, the higher the oilprices, the more expensive plastic becomes, and so the more Playmobil will cost to produce and to buy.

I think that is one of the major reasons for less accessories in new sets and for thinner plastic. The driving factor behind the increasing use of softer, rubber-like plastic - that now is been used more and more to make several parts like hats, capes, tools and weapons and other accessories -  is IMHO not a safety-issue, but just an economical one.
When plastic is softer and more bendier, that means the material has less density, so less raw material is used to make it, and so lower prodcution-costs or costs to get the neccessary amounts of raw material to make the product. You could see it as "rationing" the raw material required...

That was a very good explanation, Erwin!

However, we are getting off topic, let's get back to the original subject of this thread, please.

Yes, please split it.....

Today I received an email from Mrs. Ermann , the PCC representative from Geobra.

Due to ongoing internal discussions at Geobra, I am unable to post it here...

   you make it sound like some kind of national secret that if revealed will jeopardize the publics safety

So Geobra is going to go from treating us like annoying groupies and now we are children, where is the respect and thanks for spending countless money on their products. Sorry for bringing it up but in my experience LEGO does not do such things to its clients which I am one of also.

I spend large sums of money on this product and I really do not care for how Geobra officials treat collectors. I want support from them not rules, regulations and criticism
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Sorry, but as long I have no committment to publish details, I will not publsih them.

I will not start any rumours like I had heard from a friend, that the daughter of the son in law of the gardner of Mr. B had said while reading the newspaper that.......

They are no national secrets, the secret service is not (yet) involved, only some guys from MI5, Mossad and the FBI are notified on a very high level....

BTW: We are talking about toys, aren´t we??

if only Mr B. would understand this  ;) but from his interview he does not and will not care as long as the #'s are there. It could be lemon scented pink toilet paper for all he cares.

And this is where I get confused. If all he cares about is #'s than why hasen't he grasped us as clients with deep pockets, well much deeper than say a 6 year olds.

Yeah, really. DO they realize how much MORE money we would spend if they really tried to please us? We spend a lot now, but if they were offering $400 collector sets, we'd all be buying them too, assuming they really matched our interests and not some far-fetched notion of what might interest a colletor. Like Tahra says, they don't like money.
