There are ways to deceive anyone. It's my opinion if you are willing to take the time to send pictures of your collection, to them you must be legit. If it means I get what I need for my projects, I don't mind doing what they ask to get it.

Show one wall of your playmoden, and they'll believe you, BB!

I was thinking that, too, that you could always just be sending pics you found on the internet, so what does it really prove? ???

But anyway, yeah, I would be HAPPY to show pics of my zoo diorama. I think they'll decide I qualify, too. ;)

I really must agree that this whole thing stinks. Why would a company in the business of selling toys really need to care who buys and how much. Supply and demand theory would slow down the resellers on ebay. Let them buy 1000 guns every week, all Geobra has to do is mold more plastic to keep up with demand. Then when the Ebay seller has 100,000 guns and collectors are still buying from Geobra they will be stuck with them all or have to sell at a loss. I guess they could keep them for 10 years and sell them for double but then this would also suit the collectors community as there would be a new resource for old parts.

Geobra needs to just worry about how to keep up with demand not how to control it.

If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

This is so true, but I'm afraid Geobra is not on the same page with collectors yet. We have all stated that we want discontinued parts reinstated, & that we want better availability around the world, but it seems we are not being heard. I know that what PM has done for years is a rare service to collectors, but it can be a money making service if it is done correctly. Why a company wouldn't want to use this as a profit generating service, especially when it has been proven to have such great potential & already set up, is beyond me :-\.

I would prefer to get Playmo....not mails asking for pics.
We are paying for that stuff.....

They should sell it all across the world and ebay would not see such crazy prices....

:yup: :yup: :yup: :yup: very correct , if it was for free ok but if someone pays $+ it's not appropriate to ask questions pictures etc....

For them, if you buy a lot, it certainely means that you are a collector. But they want to have a proove to indicate in their database the new status of  official "COLLECTOR" ...

this is not true ... most of us are vintage playmobil collectors ,why should we buy from them to be named "COLLECTORS"" their new products are garbage not worth the money they ask for them ,and PLAYMOBIL is nothing like it used to be , talking for myself i use only ebay-paypal that's my playmobil shop ,only occasionaly i buy from stores ,or ds ,because there is nothing intresting to buy from them now

I wonder if this questioning of collector's proof is the beginning of them realizing there are actual collectors (not just children) and a beginning for them to start to push the Collectors Club (and/or make membership a requirement to order large amounts of parts).

Mind you, Playmobil could open it's own eBay front shop and sell spares and make lots of money and drive the scalpers and gougers out of business...

Rasputin, I think, you are right!

There's real concern at Playmobil headquarters about resellers on eBay and elsewhere. I don't know any details about what all is behind their concern. Fortunately the collecting community and Playmobil have come up with a solution that makes everyone happy.
No, I think not. This solution does NOT make EVERYONE happy!
If you are a seller of used Playmobil (& not of DS articles!) & also a collector, you can't get DS products from Playmobil (for yourself or for your kids, and your wife also do not get them!)!

With this solution, most of the DS product resellers continue selling many, many DS articles!! Look at Ebay.
And collectors (which are also sellers of used Playmobil), which don't sell DS products, can't buy DS products any more.

That's no good solution. I need the DS products for our garden train, but I don't get them.

There's just no way Playmobil can keep all parts available. There isn't storage space enough. Heather lists over 24 thousand parts in her database, and that's nowhere near all of them. So ideally we would like them to rotate through the most popular ones every few years so prices in the secondary market dont get too out of hand.
