I for one like the new modern sets especially the rescue, firefighting & police hospital, & etc. themes. Compared to the very early small ladder trucks like the reissued 7786 that are considered vintage, I much rather have the new style fire trucks with more life like accessories.
I fully agree and I think Alex you are rather very wrong there pal
. I dont collect modern playmobil but they have come a very long way from the 70s and its like comparing the first VW Golf GTi with the latest VW Golf GTi to be honest ( no specific reason for the choice of the GOlf, i think its a lovely car i owned a mk4 GTi once and i think its a great all rounder sports car ) , the amount of realism and detailing is superb and what amazes is how the sets keep up with the latest technology also ( LCD TV, computer screens , i hope see an imac soon also ..
) , the cars, vehicles , boats , airplanes are superb. i still have the old green biplane , god it pales in comparison to the big playmo jets of day that even have stewardesses (
) and food trolleys etc . I really like modern but prefer to buy other themes and thats a matter of choice that may as well alter in the future ... What i think is a same is that the same evolution didnt happen with medieval which one could say is my area of specialty and focus i suppose . There i think its all gone downhill from the late 70s where non battle sets flourished and one could create cities and villages and the peak of battle only sets of the mid 90s , the current sets i dont like at all, they have very few accessories , totally unrealistic , basically a complete different story from the modern sets that have flourished . and yes i am very tempted to buy modern and i am sure the day i will go berseck and buy a couple of modern themes entirely is not that far , i really like these fire engines and police !!!!
