Since the Kirkbean Exhibition ended I tried to cut down on the items I bought as I didn't have the exhibition as an excuse, however I don't have a lot of will power and I have accumulated a few things over the last couple of months so thought I'd post a few pics before I pack them away and like others maybe add to this topic when anything interesting arrives.
Because this covers two and a bit months worth it's a very long post so I do apologise, but I enjoy looking at photos of what others have bought so I hope you'll enjoy looking at these.
Because I want to add to my Hogwarts and Hogsmeade diorama I have been collecting a few extra loose bits and pieces of steck and am still on the lookout for witches and wizards.
Here's my latest steck additions - not all bought together, mainly pieces that seemed to be a bargain ...
I got really excited one day when someone I knew phoned up when I was baking biscuits and said they were selling their son's castle, (the biscuits were forgotten and I managed to burn 4 oven trays full
) unfortunately it wasn't a steck castle, but it seemed a bargain nevertheless so I had to go for it. With it were various knights too ...
I got the whole lot for £20 so didn't think that was bad. It's missing one shutter window and a couple of torches but that's all. I do have an idea for including it with the Hogwarts scene maybe as a main gate, I'll have to work on that!
I love the western sets and at Knaresborough was very envious of Damo's western farm waggon and was thrilled to find one especially as I had always wanted the yellow lady's bonnet. As it happened within 4 days I managed to find another two ladies with bonnets in seperate lots so I was chuffed to bits with these...
sticking with the western theme here are a few more bits and pieces I got...
Another thing I'd been looking for was a television camera to go with my van and managed to find one of these along with a few assorted pieces...
Although I already have the rock climber and rock I didn't have the eagle so I had to have this lot...
Is this the yellow tiger that is mentioned in the rare animals thread? It looks as though someone's tried to give it stripes, but I'll try and clean them off when I get chance.
A few months ago Joe kindly gave me the steps for the 5305 Victorian House. I made my own railings for them but when I saw one complete for sale I had to go for that, along with another tree for the collection and a few picnic things and a jetty to use with my pirates...
I love steck buildings so was pleased to find the Riverdale Station, although it's missing some of its signs it's a nice building...
At Kirkbean Damo discovered that I had part of the Safari station and together with some pieces he had managed to put together a custom Safari building. I found an incomplete one that was quite cheap so bought that to add to the existing pieces I already have...
One of the sets that Sandy although not a great Playmo fan (he has to put up with my obsession
) likes is the fishing trawler but they are always too expensive for my limited budget. I found this incomplete one which is going to be a work in progress, something to add bits to as and when I can, completing it will definitely be something to aspire to, I just hope that they decide to release it again through ds to make completing it easier
...
Nearly finished now, just added some fi?ures and a pegasus to the collection...
some 123 toys in excellent condition that I picked up for under £10 including postage...
a bus that James wanted to use with his school to take pupils on outings...
and finally a book written and illustrated by Nick who I remember from Playmoboard...
It's very well done, even Junior left his laptop long enough to read it all the way through and he was impressed so that is definitely praise indeed - when he's not at school he only willingly leaves his laptop so he can eat and sleep
So that's what's kept me cheerful over the past very busy 2 months.
