New project
« on: September 28, 2011, 16:32:01 »
Well here we are back to show you our second project in which we work. In this case, continuing with the pirate theme and we are customizing reference 4294. It is still in the process of making stone texture. I wait your comments and suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

That looks VERY good!
Are you using a wash technique (over diluted paint) for the seams between the rocks?
Cheers!

I've not seen the original, but what you've done looks good.

i was going to ask the same thing.

well done!  I was thinking of weathering my lighthouse, just to bring out the detail in the masonry, but keep it white.  I like your stone effect.  How did you speckle it?  did you use speckle paint?  Or did you use a toothbrush to "flick" little flecks of paint onto the surface to give it a textured stone appearence?  I was thinking of weathering my knights empire castle as well like this.

Oh, and if you are using a wash, are you using acrylics thinned with water?  Or thinner?

Hello again and many thanks for your comments!!!

About stone effect that PrimusPilus and BlackPearl said, we have sprayed with black, but with the airbrush, not a toothbrush to made the speckle. We tried with the toothbrush, but the effect did not convince me. Answering other questions, we use a washing technique for the seams, but not acrylic, is paint for cars and bikes thinned with solvent.

I hope I have answered your questions, and I hope you continue commenting, because it encourages us to continue working on new projects.

Great custom! I also painted the lighthouse: in plain grey as I wanted to give it a more northern architecture look, but it's far less convincing than your creation, great work!!
