That is quite an improvement on your last church. If you ever get the chance would you be able to take and show pictures of this impressive creation with out all the elaborate camera/photoshop work? It is really hard to make out how you put this monstrosity together and I really am curious on how you made it look so great
Thanks for sharing you great talents
You're right, Ras, I'll give you a reference point
without the photoshop editing. As you can see the interior is far from finished yet. The big challenge with system-x is the covering of the unused plug-holes
, there are so many to be filled. Also the floor is a problem as it looks so 'industrial', more like a prefab concrete floor. I'll use Busch 7201 floor panels and carve church tiles myself.
The story of the building process in short: In 2008 I bought 4 wedding churches and a few DS parts to build my small church. I noticed with the available sys-x parts, a much bigger building would be possible and I got this dream to build a cathedral for my Steck city Kodosak. I played with the nice possibilities of Sys-x and saw this confirmed by some big customs on the boards. Made a rough design on paper and a partlist. To secure part supply I started by ordering the roof parts as I thought they would be run out of stock very quickly (a lot of builders use the black church roofs to build sys-x castles, churches, etc.). The gathering of the parts (every month a large DS order), the building and designing including, it took me about 15 months to complete the structure. Finishing the interior will take me another couple of DS orders. I'll need a lot of bishop chairs, benches, altars, statues, etc.
