I was at TRU today (in USA) and saw the 5948 and 5949 boxes in person (the british mini fort and boat). Has anyone noticed on the box art, in the background you can see a WHITE PLAYMOBIL SCHOONER in the distance, flying white sails, and the square sail has a black skull and crossbones on it? It's in the background on both sets' boxes!
USA has already gotten the red corsair and the blue one....does this mean we're getting a white one too? Maybe that's the mysterious missing "5947" we've been wondering about?
(sorry if this has already been covered....I failed to find any info on the schooner spotting in the search function)
Usually in pirate sets (including ghost pirates), if you see something in the background its usually a real set that you can buy too; although I do know some pirate boxes in the past still showed the BlackBeard ship long after the BlackBeard ship was retired. For example, the ghost pirate sets showed the ghost ship in the background, which was available. And the ghostship showed the 3-headed sea serpent which was also available.
I'm curious about the white schooner! (sloop) Anyone know anything about this?
P.S. I took a VERY GOOD LONG LOOK AT BOTH BOXES, and I am 110% CERTAIN IT IS NOT A PICTURE OF THE 5950 Pirate ship (although that would have made more sense). I saw the 5950 there in the store as well, and it is definitely NOT the same ship in the picture. That's a Playmobil "Schooner" (aka Playmobil "Corsair") or sloop (in real life) for sure. UNLESS they used a schooner in place of the 5950 because they didn't have a pic of the 5950 yet when they composed the box art? I so hope we're getting a new white schooner though!
