No seriously, it's becoming common at zoos around here. The beautiful beautiful beautiful BEAUTIFUL new african exhibit at the Dallas Zoo (seriously it's AWESOME) has a giraffe feeding station similar to this one where you can buy romaine lettuce leaves to feed the giraffes... for $4!
And the Houston Zoo also has a giraffe feeding station. It's a nice way to interact with them up close. And they are such peaceful, gentle animals, with long eyelashes and beautiful long purple tongues that they wrap around the leaves.
I've fed giraffes pellets out of my hand before, and their soft little lips tickle your hand. I love giraffes...
