Hello all!
Well my username says it all.. I'm a Dad and a big fan of Playmobil... In fact, before my wife and I had a child, we were purchasing Playmobil at different places and stocking up. We scoured store closings, TJMaxx/Marshalls and even purchased a few sets in '05 on our trip through Germany (Yes we did stop at the Fun Park, but it was February so we only visited the store). Recently I purchased a 4010 train set of off ebay.de and had my friend in Germany ship it to me...
Now my son is 5 and he's got a create collection of Playmobil... almost all of it is city life, as he really loves that the best.. The train is in his room, he's got the school, fire trucks and tons of system-x parts. We build new buildings together, he loves it so much.. as do I! We've got the collectors catalog book and the "...started with a smile" book as well.. we love looking at them together and now we've joined here to get some ideas, tips and share our experiences.
I'm also a part owner and editor for ToyCollector.com. We've got a working relationship with Playmobil and have Media credentials with them. Each year we meet with them at the NY Toy fair and we review a few new products each year. You can see the reviews we've done so far here:

I just haven't had time to take them out and review them yet, and we have some new people joining the review team this year.
