The Memorial Collection

Well, I decided to start a new thread about the collection I got (continued from here: http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=5350.60). 

It's not really something the postman is bringing anymore since I already have it. 

Therefore, this thread will recount what I find, what is being discovered, pictures of the items being put together, etc.

Today I opened the tub that contained a lot of rocks and trees and other flora and fauna.

I sorted the rocks by colour.  Then realised they were kinda dirty, so as I type this they are in the dishwasher.  I've never done this with Playmobil before but I've read about so many on here who have so I hope it all works out well ...







Here are pine trees.  There's actually quite a few so it will make a nice forest.



This is a detail of the bird house.  It is immaculately clean which shows how the stuff was taken care of originally BUT you can see where the birds that were affixed have been torn asunder.  I suspect the lady who built this collection did not do this.  Nor do I suspect whomever packed up the estate would have done this either...

The base for the Baron's Battle Tower (3665).  You can see a figure still affixed to this.  However someone has removed all his items, including his hair ...



Now, what's all this?!



Closer inspection shows that this was not scribbled upon by the collector.  Note the scribble marks that go over the glue where a figure had been affixed and ripped off.

Well, pictures of rocks didn`t seem to elicite much excitement...

So, another day another tub for initial exploration.



This tub is a bit more organised with various Steck parts put in bags.  As well as some of the accessories for the figures.

In one of the bags were these signs:



So the 3444 Stadt-Wache is there!

As well as the 3445 Schuldturm (which I presumed was there because of the bell in another bag the other day).

The signs are bright and perfect.  Like they were brand-new!   :love:

These figures are still attached to the stand for the joust.  You might be able to see in the pictures the details painted on the horns (black for the holes where the horns would be hollow at the mouth piece).

The bases for the big barrels were in here so they are complete now.

I found another 3 castle defence pieces so that makes four in total.

Since this piece was only in the 3888 and the 3123, but there are no siege towers, does that mean that there are 4 of the 3888 sets present.  ???

I guess I will have to correlate with the figures and banners to see.  There certainly are enough of the rock dropping castle defence thingy (technical term), so it is quite probabe.  Those coupled with the two 3666`s present would make a goodly sized castle alone!   :love:

Two farm wagons.  I`ve always loved this type of wagon but I never had one before. 



They are each different.  One is from 1978 and the other from 1992 moulds.  I wonder if Playmobil updated this wagon because something happened to the old mould or because they wanted to update it with more details.  I will do a comparison of them because they are very different, despite initial similarity of appearance.



Furniture:



More castle pieces, although there is a piece for a pirate ship present.

I THINK wheels with metal were mostly replaced by plastic ones.

I was wondering if that was a cost cutting measure (metal to plastic). However, every single piece of the wagon has been redone.
