I've taken some pictures of some more of the sets.  I will start with the one I referenced previously - the 3824 'Shepard and Sheep'.

I really like this figure.  It can be used for almost any period.

The sheep have all been detailed - you will note their eyes and nostrils have been painted.

An interesting fact about this figure is it was released almost identically as a Special (4615) four or so years after it was originally discontinued in 1999.

There are also a lot of other sheep present:

They have all be detailed.  Yes, the grey one has been painted to that colour.

Here are some of the individual figure sets I have been able to sort out, so far:

First up being the 3633 Highwayman or Robber (the latter being a much better translation) from 1994.

Next is the Knight.  It is interesting to note these were produced at the same time as the Specials came out but stayed in production longer, had bigger boxes and cost more - yet had, essentially, the same amount of items ...

Note the silver piping painted on the cape.  The cuff is not stock but it sure makes the armoured hand look better.

Whom is it, at Playmobil, who keeps putting the knights as being left handed when they are clearly designed as right handed (by the sword belt placement and the shape and design of the shields (ie as on the Fi?ures 'Blue Knight' pictured on all the artwork))?!

Next is Sir Polkadot from 1999.  According to Collectobil the German name is Ritter Artus which translates to Knight Arthur (or Arthurian Knight) or it could be said as Sir Arthur or better, yet, Sir Artus.  (Who the heck came up with, Sir "Polkadot"?!  :hmm:)

Yes, the feather is painted and is a different colour than the one pictured on the box.  However, this one is the one it came with and it looks good so I presume she swapped it out and painted it as it is glued into the helmet (or maybe it came with a different colour).

Note the boots are purple and the box art shoes blue.  Playmodb also shows purple so it must have been a colour issue on the box art.  ???

Now for a set I've always liked and appreciated but never had.  The Rus bear trainers.  Okay, maybe they're not Rus, they could Ukrainian (going by the pattern on the shirts and the hats) but they are pretty close geographically and culturally.

This set is from 1994 and was discontinued in 1996.  There was some whining from certain segments of the population that this was a cruel depiction of animal brutality and should not be a toy.  However, it is historically accurate.  Not to mention that just because they have a trained bear, it does not mean it was trained cruelly.  I've not seen much complaining about those who train horses, but most don't have a clue on how to do it right and their training is pretty cruel.

Anyway, it is a toy for children and bears are big fuzzy animals to children (look at their teddy bears) and are their companions, not something to be dominated and exploited.

It is an excellent example of the glory days of Playmobil's medieval sets that did not focus on mere warfare and battle knights with accessories that fire something, but is a cross-over for both boys and girls to enjoy the theme and inspire imagination and creative play.

You may note the flute has been painted.  I need to locate where I put the handle for the chain.  I know I had it somewhere ...  Also there are two extra bears in the collection so I thought this would be a natural place to include them.

It is really an updated version of this set (3567) from 1981:

Note, those people never whined about Grizzly Adams ...

how did the parts fair after the dishwasher treatment?

also, i thought of an idea how to remove the crayon/marker markings from the playmobil:  magic eraser.  (but be careful not to rub too much, then it'll begin to mar the plastic)

The parts come out perfectly clean!  Just like new out of the box.

Our water temp is set pretty hot and that did not affect the pieces at all.

I have no qualms at all now to wash Playmobil in the dishwasher. I've read of others on here doing it (that's why I tried it) and it works perfectly.

It was also released as a large paperish egg...

And you get all that in the egg?!  I'd never heard of this before.  Was it quite costly?  Where was it sold?

It's hard to tell from the picture, but the figure has printed clothing or does he have a "vest/coat" on?  He is also in beige, I see.
