If at the end you have any of the single sections of red tiled roof needing a home, I'd be interested in giving them one.

Skypurr just got some through UK DS!

That's great news and I'm sending in a DS order on Monday so some will be on it.

Here is the first building we put together from the stuff.  It is a 3444 Stadtwache (City Watch Building).

We tried to recreate the box art image.  (Actually I had two of my daughters (5 and 6)  recreate the scene using the picture as a reference - it's a good brain exercise.)

I took photos of the back of it as well so you can see it.

I really like this building as it is different from the other "Old Houses".

What I do not like about this building is the large upstairs, complete with stairs leading up and then you can do nothing as it is all enclosed ...

I was thinking of putting extra double roof pieces in the box so if we make it we can then make it with an opening in the roof so it is then usable, playable space.

(You could also use an open end, but that's not as good of an option, I don't think because the stone gable ends add character to this structure.)

Something unique about this set compared with the new medieval sets is when I told the girls they could play with it they immediately saw the potential for music -  not just fighting.  So they set up the guards to play their instruments.  The dog even joined in by playing the lute.

I took this photo at the beginning of their play - but the crowd quickly swelled to many figures watching the performance (I also used a real camera to capture what they created, as opposed to just using my Ipod Touch).

Yesterday I went through another bin.  Forgive the aweful colour.  It was raining and the lighting in the garage and no flash on the ipod and the "green" of the tub ....

Just inside the top were these:

So if there are three of the "Castle wall with eyebrow window" pieces that, according to playmodb.org were only used on the 3556 Barn and it used two of these, is there another mixed up in the other castle wall pieces and are there two of the 3556's?

Could there have been another olde set that used these?

Are these used on the 7145 Medieval Barn that is conspicuously absent from Playmodb.org.

Surely someone has this set on here that can answer that AND help out Playmodb.org by supplying the necessary information that she needs.

After the top layer was removed:

Semi-survivor of the original display.  Still glued to the walkway, but stripped of everything ...

When there are two 3666's you can have one castle made up with one heraldry and use the other (swan) for the other, I guess.

I wonder if the original display had two opposing castles, then?  ???

It's been like pulling teeth to get information out of the people I bought this off of - it was willed to them and they have 4 kids and it looks like they let their kids rip through it and they must have really enjoyed swapping parts.

Some of the more recognisable parts in the tub:

I was pretty excited about the eyebrow wall find, the Schuldturm balcony, another chimney (now I have two extra chimneys that I don't know what they go with - although I think I may have figured one out).

I did take pictures of the tub when I opened it but I don't know what happened to them.  Anyway, it's the largest of the tubs and is packed to the brim with Steck tower pieces for the most part.

Here is the tops that were in there:

The front left one's bottom fell on floor and I found it after I took the picture.

So, twelve tower tops in there.  One for the Baron's Battle Tower, two for the 3666's.  That leaves nine.  There are seven tops, take two away for the 3666's so that is 5 of the 7175 Round Towers?  That leaves 4.  That would account for 4 of the 3888's as I was speculating.

However, there should be 4 of the horse caparison's of the 3888 and there is only 1.  Does anyone know if DS sold the wall sections (tower, wall, defences) from the 3888 by themselves without the figures?

This is how the steck is packed in that largest bin:

Banner holders still attached to the towers (and unbroken after their journey!):

Actually, nothing really seems to be broken from the journey.  That just goes to show how durable Playmobil is.

Not every hinge is painted, most seem to be though (maybe 2/3?).  It is well done and I think adds to the pieces.

Oh, anyone know what this is from:  ???

The wonders of your buy continue, Wesley!

The painted hinges make a great difference; maybe with advanced moulding techniques they could be moulded in black if Steck made a comeback.

The last piece you show is part of a pirate set and has also reappeared in the recent beach set but with more pronounced detail on the decking.

That's what I was thinking.  There is also the 'loading platform' from the pirate ships present.  I wonder how these were used in the diorama that she made.  The loading platform I could see being used with the winches on the towers.  How this part could be used I don't know.

I have never seen any pictures of the original and the seller claims to not have had any.   :-\

7145 is here on playmoDB, Wesley:

http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=7145

I have the plans but no part numbers are given for any parts.  The parts and part numbers shown on playmoDB for 7145 Heather has extrapolated from sets using them.

Possibly as a small landing stage or jetty if the town/castle was near a river in the diorama.
