Even if you can't find the sets you want at a TRU near you, also try Tuesday Morning, TJMaxx, and Marshall's in the near future - they often get the clearance stuff a little later so you might have some luck, especially this fall once the stores start setting up for the Christmas holiday.  ::)   Also, if it's not too much of a pain, keep checking at TRU as there may be some sets that are returned.

are the clearences in certain fixed period or periods of the year?

Toys R Us  :)

Thanks.  I couldn't figure that one out, maybe because the "R" wasn't backwards!

Our Tuesday Morning is the best place to look for deals.  But it's feast or famine.  Last Christmas they had a ton of Roman amphitheaters.  Recently they haven't had diddly squat.

I will probably check the local TRU today. Last time I was there all they had left were pyramids and a couple of the chariots.
Don't know if I will be able to justify getting any of them though it's one of my favorite themes. eBay has been sucking up my budget lately (Ha - as if I keep to some sort of budget!)

It looked like they were geting ready for an inventory count as there were little forms taped to the shelves next to each different product.  Retail stores will often schedule a clearance sale to occur just before they do an inventory count because, that way, there is less inventory to count!  :)

Went in today and the only Egyptian set they had was the 4247 Two Camels set. I got two of them so I have enough now for a small caravan.  :)

I went into one TRU that had lots of clearance items. Tons of Egyptian sets, Circus Arena ($50), Retired Camper 3647 ($20), Retired Skating Park ($17), and some others.
