I've been struggling for a long time now to fit all my playmobil in one room (there are still a lot in the living room, kitchen and bedroom)... but I think I managed to do so today... now 90% of my playmobil is in one room... I used to have my desk and computer in the playmoden but moved it in the living room and moved the shelves from the living room (loaded with the pyramids, pirate island, farm etc) in the playmoden... this is the result...I tried to give you a round tour of the playmoden... Its not very well organised and I am not completely happy about it, but will keep working on it...

If you're asking for advice, I share some.

I never thought I'd say this, but ...

Sell off some of what you have.  Get rid of all your extras (ie keep only one pyramid).

You are in a very limited space and if you stopped buying any more Playmobil (can you see yourself never buying more Playmobil again?!) you would still be in the same situation you are in now.

You have two choices.

1)  Downgrade the amount you have

2) Move to a bigger place.

You missed the point of this thread Wesley! I dont look forward to narrowing down my collection at all. Nor any advice around this issue. True I could do with some less items and sets. But you lack imagination to see that multiple sets, as in the case of the three pyramids (and I actually have a fourth one still in its box) can work very constructively, lets say for a Giza diorama.

I dont look to have my collection widespread throughout the house. As I said earlier, and perhaps you have not read the rest of my posts, this is a great solution to keep everything in one room and have easy access to setting up projects at another area. And you know what, one day I'll have my bigger place... I just wait for certain people to move out.

Yes from a collecting standpoint one of each set is perfect. But for more creative pursuits, you must have multiples of some items. I mean, really what would be the point of one pyramid? You must have three to do a decent dio! (I only have one, but would have three if Egyptians were a priority.) I know the pyramid was just an example, but the same can be said for armies of knights, medeival houses, ships, police cars, indian teepees, there are a lot of reasons to have multiples of items!

There's lots of empty space inside a pyramid. You could fit a lot of Egyptian klickies and accessories in there for storage, and 3 pyramids gives you 3 times as much storage space! :D

Also I will point out that because of the shape you could put one upside down between the other two and use a third less shelf space.

Funny you should say that Tim, until we took our pyramid apart and put it in the egyptian box recently, it had a bunch of random stuff stored in it, from customizing tools to random pieces to a whole race car! But if I had shelves as deep as Panos' I would leave mine set up and store other egyptian stuff in it, that's a very good plan! It's even big enough to fit camels in!

Tim these are two very constructive ideas!!! Some paper tape must be used though to keep the pharaoh engraving and the side of the piramid in place, so they dont fall out, but otherwise a great idea indeed!!

I dont think getting rid of stuff will ever be an option for Sir Wolf !!!     .. My wishes sir is for your collection to grow that much so you dont have any space at all in your house as its going to be full of playmobil  ;D ;D ;D ;D. if you seriously need some space for 'slow moving'  parts etc , you are welcomed to use some of my space in the 120m2 underground private garage we  have in athens , there is a separate room in it about 25m2 , that will be converted into playmoden #3 in september so there will be playmo there from then anyways and i might bring all my playmobil there sometime in 2013. i dont see how you could ever depart from some of your playmos to athens though to be honest , however as i have lots of space there and its more like a living room rather than an underground garage ( cars are not there therey are in a diff garage ) you are welcomed to leave some stuff if space is needed  ;)
:knight: Steck is Holy . Bring back more steck sets and its guardians , the Nuremberg Guards :knight:
