Hello All,
I have I already talked about this haul in one of Skywalker’s threads. So I finally had the time to post this. As I have mentioned I am fighting often with the urge to go into a new theme. But when I ran into these auctions on Ebay I couldn’t resist and bid what I thought were bargain prizes for each. So here they are:
Yes…I also bought some trains
So there were two auctions with an engine and two carts and I bought a separate lot of rails. For each engine and two carts I paid 20 Euro. So it was a total of 45 Euro for 2 WORKING engines, 2 flatbeds and 2 passenger cars!! So yeah, how can one resist?
One of the engines misses a roof and a seat is missing in one of the passenger cars, so overall not to bad. I was hoping maybe someone has a spare of either one for trade?
The rails was a total of 14 curves 4 straights and 2 switches for 60 Euro’s so another good deal in my book. Now the rails need to be powered and I am all set. I also managed to convince my wife that we should keep it all…as it would make a great addition to the Zoo to have a train run through it for the visitors
Then I bought a nice collection with lots and lots of different stuff, here is an overview picture (just the interesting stuff).
The following picture shows the most interesting animals in the lot, there were a lot of coloured ones but having more intact Wildebeests is always nice. There was a whole bag full of animals, lots of horses and such of course.
Here are some of the most interesting vehicles in the batch we’ll have lots of spares soon so I am gonna prep a trading post at some point this year!
One of the highlights of the collection was the Longhorns although one has a broken horn but the rest are in pristine condition.
Another nice thing was the 3799 island, unfortunately it was glued and one of the palm trees had broken off in its socket, I’ve already taken a drill to it so it’s no longer an issue. Although the tree itself will need some sanding to fit in something and will be slightly shorter! In the back you can see the Steck Farm and typical green fence, as well as the Big Tree with hideout.
There was also a complete pottery in the mix which was one of the reasons I got interested in the collection to begin with….finally I have a pottery wheel
There were also a couple of old knights and 90’s medieval figures that were nice surprises.
Another great tree, complete with the figures and the Fire Wizard in the back will be customized thanks to Vauban’s great photo story.
The witch is a just a great klicky IMO and more tournament tents are always welcome.
There was also a nice selection of complete knight-specials that were in ziplock bags
The travelers and the robber are also great sets. That were completely included.
I know the monk was in there, slowly amassing a decent number of these for a potential monastery/brewery Belgium style, now that the Big Barrel is out (have 10 new ones already
) The dove girl and goat herder special are also nice medieval specials.
Here is some more medieval stuff that was included, some nice pieces and klickies…lots of customizing opportunities.
In the front of this picture you see the bag of animals I was talking about. The rest of the box is just full of unsorted stuff that we are now slowly processing. Lots of trade stuff as well for the future.
Then comes the centerpiece “The Circus” this is also what started the mediation in regards to buying the whole collection. I got the everything related with the circus for under 20 Euro’s in an ebay auction. In the follow up she explained she had more stuff for sale and instead of listing everything on ebay we made a deal for everything through email. I paid 200 Euro for everything (apart from the train stuff) which I was very happy with.
Here is the “Kassa” with the horse act in the back.
Two wild animal cars (missing the three of the four back windows, trade anyone?) and a living wagon forming a nice wagon train. As you can see in the back there was also a big elephant.
The sea lions were an awesome set and I still have my childhood set as well…now there are more. The Snakewoman and Fakir are also happy additions.
Some clowns, the money act and in the back you can see the circus truck.
Here you have a better view of the truck as well as a good view of the band
Well that it, like I said all that for 200 Euro was more than ok in my book and now it’s a matter of sorting and eventually I’ll start trading some of the stuff away.
With all our recent additions we really needed some more space in our Playmoden so I made an improve extra shelf for our less used stuff. Two old pirate islands on the right, Western/Christmas/Rescue in the boxes two pirate ships on the left behind the new Water Tower and Windmill. Below are all the dragons including the small one which are “slightly” hard to spot.
Thanks for reading/watching
