advice: don´t buy the one with the missing flap at the front...you will end up buying another / complete 4052 because these parts are very very rare

If i dont win the schuss's one i might go for this one ...  ;)
Don't buy this one!! I can't recommend to buy a 4052 with only one smoke deflector (plate). You are looking for that (in Germany; in Greece it's harder I think) for many years without finding one. You'll get annoyed!!!
Buy a complete one. It's much better.

I have no box, but with that I can live very good. If one of my locos has no smoke deflector (plate) or doors between the tender and the loco or no coal flap (???) or no roof etc., that would be a »problem« for me, cause I see everytime, what's not finished (if I find none).
Years ago it would be no problem, if a piece is lost (my first 4052 had no coal flap & no seat, but I found both some weeks later... But today it's another situation...

You can always repair motorblocks. However I have a 4001 from 1980 and it still runs fine.

Playmobil don't repair old playmobil trains.

motorblock = 2 axles, 4 wheels, motor,... and the black box around.

You can click off the motor block and buy (for ~20,- €) another loco or motor block alone and click this on the loco.
The motor blocks are all the same (for transformer).

And there are motor blocks for RC (are also all the same). A little more expensive.

But I have only some motors which don't work (and I bought them »used«, they were not broken here).

What's possible to be defective:
• the wheels loose their chromium plating => you need new (axles &) wheels.
• the motor could be defective => you need a new motor/motor block.
• the gears on the axles could be abraded => you need new axles (& wheels).
• the wipers could be flat => you need new wipers (e.g. of Piko or used LGB)

For details of the motor blocks see my web site. For the old trains go to the bottom of the page marked background and for the R.C. go to hints and tips page.
