Samurai Longbow
« on: May 26, 2011, 14:18:40 »
Not the greatest...
I heat treated the regular longbow a bit to make it look like a Samurai's bow,
But the tool I used to bend the plastic left scars. :hissyfit: :prays:
I would probably use different tweezers next time.

Still, I hope you all think the concept is alright,
and that it does look a little more like a Samurai's bow.

Trying to make a step ahead, WoT aren't you?
Well, I think it's a nice try but it's definitely too short. From what I read the samurai bow was the same height as its bearer, with the grip at the junction between the 2nd and the 3rd fifth...
I wonder... :!: Maybe with a pole or the shaft of a lance (again!)?

It's getting to the right shape.

Great prototype, WoT! I knew your blacksmithing skills would come in handy soon! ;)
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

I suggest using a very short rigid hollow section of tube to join the two bow halves together in the middle, putting an end into each end of the tube.
