new playmobil motorcycles - a big security problem
« on: May 26, 2011, 00:47:39 »
i don't know if you have noticed it but - apart from 1 set - all the new motorcyle sets have a big security problem.  ;)
if you look closely, none of the bikers is wearing gloves - a mandatory piece of equipment when you ride a motorcycle.  :o
maybe it could be acceptable with the 5113 chopper - they usually are very slow and a fall would be just as a fall with a bycicle (and they vibrate so much that your hands will be numb after a 5 minute ride).
but nobody rides a 5114 tourer without gloves (these kind of bikes are usually ugly but its owners i spite of a very strange taste are not stupid).
and what can you say of the 5115 enduro rider - he's wearing a chest protector but he forgot his gloves (he's lucky that klickies don't have pinky fingers).

the top security madness comes with the 5116 supersportler - no doubt someone who hates his hands and doesn't mind to rub them in the tarmac when sliding after a 300 km/h fall.

almost the same can be said about the 5117 naked bike rider.
in this case calling this a naked bike indicates that its rider has some loose bolts under his skull so the absence of gloves doesn't really come as a big surprise.

finally, the only smart rider - the 5118 custom biker.
not only he's the only one to wear gloves he also has the most beautiful bike...
... and his bike looks a little bit like mine, i must confess.  :-[

5116 has a much worse problem than the lack of gloves  -- He can't see where he's going! :omg:

A serious detail omission there by Playmobil!

When you wrote security problem, I though the bikes lacked an engine immobilizer or some anti-theft device. Lack of gloves is a safety issue.  ;)

Lucky the new style gloves can be easily added. I dislike klickies with non-flesh-colored hands as it restricts their usefulness for customising.

It's a matter of translation, Martin.  Cachalote will have thought of his topic in Portuguese and written it in English and in Portuguese the word for "security" and "safety" is one and the same - segurança
“Today well-lived makes every yesterday a day of happiness to remember and every tomorrow a vision of hope.”
