Part number for children's hair?
« on: May 21, 2011, 16:32:00 »
A lot of sets I have acquired from eBay recently have included klickys with no hair.  ::) An easy enough problem to solve-just order the parts by looking at the numbers here:

http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/category.pl?sortby=description&page=1&category=Wearable-Hair&pics=on

However, I have a child who must have been left on the radiator or something because the back of his head had melted.  I prised the hair off and the head is fine so I was just going to order some new hair but I can't find any part numbers?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

There are a few hair part numbers available from various sets that came with wigs and stuff like that, maybe some of the part numbers were acquired by people just asking customer service for them; I don't know. But as for the kids' hair... isn't it part of the head? ??? I never thought of it as being able to be removed like with adult hair.

Yeap, that is the case!

Perhaps its better, Verity, to look for the whole klicky child...

From what I have read in the past, anything connected with Playmobil is assigned part numbers from the design department. This is done to be able to keep track of stock quantities. Even the brown card board shipping boxes with Playmobil on them have part numbers. At one time German DS made adult hair pieces available directly from the factory by researching production diagrams, but out of country DS department's were not permitted to order them, saying they came on the figures only. Now from what I understand unless shown as a replacement part in instructions like the hair salon, it is near impossible to acquire wigs from figures separately. Another reason there are part numbers assigned to all inventoried parts is for quality control & safety evaluations. If there is a problem found in the production of XX XX XXXX part number, they can fix the problem & keep track of future situations through ongoing inspections.

On my recent parts order, I tried ordering several different non hat hair styles, and the only two available were this one: http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-21-7370 and this one: http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-21-7190

Oh well.  It wasn't a rare or even important figure so I'll just leave it.  My mum suggested putting him in the hospital as a head trauma patient!

Thanks anyway,

what figure was it exactly? one other solution could be just order the entire figure from your country's DS or swap a spare klicky's head into him :)

This one:

It doesn't matter - it was just because I am putting together a DS order and trying to complete some of my figures.  I've found the part numbers I require for the adults and they were more important so he'll just remain in the spares box.

anyway if you still do wonder someday, I just like to add that this kid's hair comes heat-sealed on. they are not snap-on/snap-off hair pieces..give him a hat or something  ;)
