I never want to believe that there is anyone with actual intent to harm anyone one else here.

I agree! :)

excellent dress sence??  :(o): :(o): :(o): :(o): :(o): :(o): :(o): :(o): :(o): i'am sure i'll know who you are if i see you in the street one day alison  ;)

I've just rejoined this thread.  No, I look nothing like that when I go out.  I prefer to leave the house with a couple of rashers of bacon on my head (at the very least).

And as for offending people, I have often said on another forum I am on (where i am a moderator and occasionally have to pour oil on troubled waters) that although we are very friendly and chatty on line, most of us have never met and we know absolutely nothing of peoples' domestic circumstances or arrangements - rich or poor, gay or straight, black or white, left or right wing, lonely, depressive, agorophobic, terminally ill, typing their messages from a prison cell. We will never really know who are are dealing with unless we meet them (unlikely on an international forum for more than a few of us to meet a few others.  Smilies go a long way to indicate intent, but feelings can often go deeper than a winking smiley can help with.

And on that note, I may be about to set off a light hearted discussion on stereotyping where we can get a few questions answered over here http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=6646.2235 or not!!!

Hellooooo, everybody! I'm afraid that there will be no discussion of stereo types in any topics on this forum. This will be enforced due to some people not being able to translate languages in a safe way, or being sensitive to certain issues, along with many other reasons. As you already mentioned Alison, we don't know the most intimate details of each other, whether rich, poor, black, white, etc. so there will be no chances taken to hurt each others feelings because arguments stemming from these types of discussions have already been intervened by the moderator team, & we've learned no good will come of it.
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

It's not a Playmobil forum I moderate on, it's a camper van forum so you are unlikely to come across me elsewhere.  Fortunately most of us on there meet up eventually (usually in a field) as 90% of the members are in Britain. There'll be 362 of us in a field somewhere near Birmingham in a month's time  8} The remainder are spread very far and wide.

If it's easier for you to try and stereotype me in French, you can (I've got a few pieces of paper somewhere which say that I can speak it well)!!!  I may provide my own stereotype of people from my part of Britain at some stage on the non-Playmo section of the forum.

In a few years time it will be some of those children who steal Playmobil from other children as mentioned elsewhere here.  They will be missing their ill-gotten collections and sign up here to live their collecting lives vicariously through others  :o

I was  thinking long the same line, BB. We'd sure be ending up yelling: "No waaaaaaay! We're not like that!"
We can do without this kind of thread, IMHO.
BTW, I only had frog legs once in my life. And I must admit I also had my share of snails, too!  :(o):
