Mountain goats! How could I forget them? Of course they would be great. Also, if as Indianna says, new molds aren't a problem, I'd love to see female mountain goats (shorter horns, and another obvious difference.)

. . . .  The mold situation is interesting.  They may not be using any of the old molds anymore at all.  It is my understanding that with their new equipment they can create a mold and start using it very quickly.  The blank wall may be from a newly generated mold.

Maybe the folks who take the factory tour later this year can ask about this.  Because some of the early conversation about the old Steck molds took place at the now-defunct Playmoboard, many of the references are lost.  My recollection of the conversation, though, is that around the time that Playmobil started producing SystemX they were also phasing out their old production systems in favor of new CAD/CAM technology.  I believe that the original Steck molds were "old-fashioned" in the sense that they were milled and machined in a very labor-intensive and time-consuming way.  The new technology allows them to create a mold very quickly and efficiently (see this article about Playmobil molds.)   They may have phased out their old molds entirely and may be using this new technology for the recent Steck houses.  Of course, there is nothing to stop them from re-making all the old Steck pieces (and some new ones!) with new more efficient and cost-effective molds!

There also is the issue of the steck patent. In the US the right to exclude others from making it is aprox 20 years. So if geobra started making steck in large #'s again then other companies could in theory also make it but would have to sell it under a different name. I do believe steck has been around for 20+years, correct me if I am wrong. The Lego Group is having a hard time with these issues

i would like to see a roller coaster back .. maybe with an addon to make some awesome tracks! its great to create a theme park .. etc..
