I indeed pride myself on creating all my decors including the backgrounds without using special photographic effects.
I truly admire what can be done with such effects when creating an atmospheric decor but I also value the true effort of someone who has gone through the trouble of creating everything from scratch like myself
I very carefully select the backgrounds to my scenes, the accessories and the lighting until I am satisfied with the result, as much as may be.
The best example to date is a canvas picture representing a moon crescent on a night sky behind which I put a light to create the "magical" silhouette of Mary Poppins ! Because the scene was happening on top of the mansion, I had a side shelf topped by a light, then the picture canvas in front and on a stand my little Mary Poppins...this was such a gymnastic in itself to achieve the picture, but the result was not too bad in the end
