What about Belgium? I heard nor Fun nor Bart Smit will carry them  >:( >:( >:(

I haven't seen any around either. I asked in a shop in de "Steendam"-straat in Gent ( ;) ), and they expect them somewhere in August.

Are you sure 'Bart Smit' and 'Fun' won't carry them? Those are some of the biggest retailers...  :eh?: :hissyfit:

Hopefully 'Dreamland' will have them in the assortment, otherwise we're pretty screwed... ::)

Resistance is futile, you will be boarded!

I will probably end up turning the uncle sams into a circus band or something

A barbershop quartet would be awesome. :yup:

Yup, called to both local stores in Dendermonde, they won't have the figures.  :-\

Dreamland would be another option, true.  8-) I've been to Hulst last weekend, the local Intertoys shop will carry them but they had no delivery date yet, they'll phone me as soon as they have them.

Ken, I had phone/email contact with  DS-Belgium today and I asked about the surprise-figures. The nice person I talked to then contacted the marketing department for further info, and replied to me that the figures would be available in Belgium "in a few weeks time and at most major shops"...

Resistance is futile, you will be boarded!

Popped into a local toystore today and they had the surprise bags. I bought 4 of the boys' series @ $2.99 each.

There is a printed code on the back which may indicate the figure inside. I stress MAY, this is only speculation at present. Foolishly I cut open three of the bags and poured out the contents before noting which figure was in which bag. However:

Code 14711 appears to be the Athlete with cup, becasue I got two athletes and this number was on two bags, one of which I didn't take the figure out of immediately.
Code 14811 is either the Mummy or Boxer, and
Code 15011 is either the Boxer or Mummy. Possibly.

These are just guesses, but if people can confirm that the top left printed numbers relate to the figure inside we may be spared a lot of disappointment.

The number is top left on the printed bit which is three lines of numbers, on the back of the bag above the barcode.

As for the figures themselves - The mummy is very, very cool, printed front and back. I'd like to get half a dozen. The athlete is less useful to me, but has a normal klicky face, so his head & chassis would be ideal for a character who changes clothing. The Boxer is OK, but came with two right hand gloves and no left hand glove, though the mini-catalog inside clearly shows that left-hand gloves do exist.

If Playmobil used this head & chassis arrangement for every klicky from now on I'd be happy. The chassis feels less brittle than the usual variety, and the head can be pulled out easily with two fingers now they've redesigned the neck peg.

Me too, thanks for the link. Too many threads about the same subject, the other one wasn't even on page 1 of new threads until you brought our attention to it, thanks!

I was in Germany last tuesday and checked out two toy stores there. And neither of them had any.

So now I'm looking into my options to buy them online and I've found a store which sells them for € 1,49, but the mail costs for the Netherlands are € 14,50.

 :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Persuaded my mum to call in to toys r us on our way past yesterday just on the off chance and they had them in!  I was walking to the playmobil isle and just noticed the 'playmo blue' out of the corner of my eye.  They were at the end of an isle that had nothing to do with playmobil and it was quite a big display about waist height with 4 different compartments, 2 for pink bags, 2 for blue bags.  If I'd had my phone with me I would have taken a picture because it was not like the ones that are meant to sit on a counter.  I'm not ashamed to admit that in my excitement, I half ran to the display.   ;D

We stood there for about half an hour trying to feel the ones I wanted (it's harder than you think) then sat with them on my lap all the way home then opened them.  I bought 8 - most I was sure about but some I wasn't 100% sure that is was the one (such as the guitarist) and to my suprise everyone we identified was right.  The only one I wanted to find and couldn't was the female highway robber...which I thought would have been easy-ish due to the sack.   :hmm:

Any how here's how I found them just by feeling the packet (a couple of shop assistants laughed at me as they walked past  ::))

4. Mummy-Foot bandage
6. Pizza man-Pizza tray with handles
7. Guitarist-This was tricky I thought I was feeling the guitar body but wasn't sure so it was a bit of luck.
8. Uncle Sam- Top hat
10. Guy in tracksuit- Trophy
12. Axe man- Hat/mask thingy (it flexes slightly if you squeeze it  ;))

4. Singer-Microphone
8. Witch-Cape then hat

The witch is my favourite closely followed by the tattoed people although I'm going to have to get more instruments to make a believeable band.

I hope other people in the UK have been able to find them,
