5788 Eagle Knight
« on: May 24, 2006, 03:51:54 »
I saw an auction for this knight on ebay, and I was wondering if anyone knew when/where he was released? He was identified as an exclusive, but there were no details given. I do not recall seeing him mentioned on the board, but I may just have missed it.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Henry :)

There was a topic about this set recently on the playmo-portal. :)

One of their members contacted Playmobil about it and were informed that it's a set exclusive to Target stores. Must be very new as a lot of people over there hadn't seen it before either. ;)

Thanks Sylvia!

I checked out that thread and found a link to THIS on the Playmobil website!

I have already seen the Beach Rescue set at Target, as well as some of the others, but there are some every cool sets mentioned that I have yet to see! For example:

Skull Pirate Ship
A new cannon, more pirates, more gadgets and a hoist to swing through the air! The new Skull Pirate Ship is a pirate's dream come true - filled with secret compartments for booty and all the accessories needed for a swashbuckling adventure at sea. Available at Target for an estimated retail price of $29.99.

(The key is this little blurb, confirming it is indeed a NEW :arrr: ship: "PLAYMOBIL's popular Pirates theme is back with updated versions of the Pirates' Treasure Chest and Blackbeard's Pirate Ship, featuring even more gadgets and accessories!"

There is also:

Knights Eagle Castle
PLAYMOBIL's newest knights castle features a drawbridge, boulder drop and trap door to fend off invading knights. But, watch out, they may just be able to knock down the break-through wall! Available at Target for an estimated retail price of $49.99.

My Take-Along Knights Battle Chest
Fun with knights can now go along on playdates! Boys and girls alike can battle the bad knight and lion king who have captured the princess in a rock cave prison. A brave knight on horseback will come to her rescue! Available at Target for an estimated retail price of $19.99.

Although, oddly, no listing of a single Eagle Knight such as I mentioned at the start of the thread.

Here is some of what Target currently has listed on their website that matches the new 2006 list:

Pirate Dungeon

Treasure Island

Take-Along Farm

Dragon Knights

I will have to keep my eyes PEELED every time I go to Target to see when the new sets are out (IF they are out - there was one batch of Playmo Pals that I NEVER saw at all until they hit ebay!  >:(). Of course, I will report as soon as there are any sightings! :D

Hello, Cap'n Henry ...

Yesterday, I saw (and bought) the "Yellow Chicken Knight" (5788) at Target here in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They only had one. (I don't know if they had more, or if they're going to get any more.)

But, maybe they're now on the Target shelves in your area !!!

All the best,
Richard

Thanks for the info Richard! I have indeed seen (and bought ) one of the yellow knights at my local Target. I am looking for others, to complete a trade with an overseas collector. I will keep looking, I am sure they will start appearing more frequently now!

You're welcome, Cap'n Henry ...

Thanks for your original post (way back in May), which let me know what to look for ...
(It's actually a pretty nice figure.)

All the best,
Richard

Don't know what you're talking about, Sylvia ... ???

All you have to do is look at him (and his heraldic device of a rooster) and you can see that he's a genuine "Yellow Chicken Knight" ...   :P ...

All the best,
Richard

That's true!  ;D I wonder why he is called an Eagle Knight then? :eh?:
Do you suppose it's because "Rooster Knight" just sounds a little silly? ???
