the bakery is in my collection at last!!!
« on: April 02, 2011, 20:27:35 »
The postman delivered my bakery yesterday, I am soooo excited.  I have wanted to have this since the early 1980s when my children and I would visit the toy shop and drool over the ever-so-expensive larger playmobil sets.  It arrived in excellent played-with condition, complete, not dirty, and no broken pieces.  It does not have a box, which is not a concern for me, and I do not know if the klickies are the original klickies as they both have all white arms without wrists.  I am so excited.  My medieval village is growing slowly, as I purchased the tailor shop a few months ago.   :)

Congratulations Kaethe!!! Its a most desired set!!! Alhtough playmobil will reproduce one for the next years DS catalogue, the original set fells so much greater to have!!!

Can you please give me the measurement of the chains that keep the door open? I have lost mine and not sure how to replace them...

And I am sorry but it sounds like you dont have the original klickies, as these have green arms for the male klickiy and yellow arms for the female klicky! and the klickies of the first edition back in the late 70's did not have movable hands!

Congragulations Keathe !!! I think you bought these sets from the same member here i bought my 3449 museum which i am waiting for !!!

Lovely buy . I bought the 3441 Bakery in 1981 i still have the original mint and complete since then ( I have only bought another one since then but i have lost the chains so i havent used the 2nd one in my medieval set up). As a matter of fact i think the 3440 and 3441 are the best single steck houses . And the bakery is by far hte best and its details and design is 10x better than any rubbish system x house of today. Truly classics and well done for the purchase !!!!!!!
:knight: Steck is Holy . Bring back more steck sets and its guardians , the Nuremberg Guards :knight:

i bowed out of that bidding, and my tailors shop came from a local sale, it never ceases to amaze me what pops up in the san francisco area, perhaps since we have so many international residents who need to sell things to fit in our tiny sf apartments with expensive rent!
As much as I would dearly love to have the museum and bakery, I shall wait.  The competition appears to be quite high, congratulations to whoever catches the trade.

i have researched my klickies and it appears that i have either the first or second version, as i think the bakery staff has solid white arms in the collector book photos.  does anyone know the difference between the klickies of v1 and v2?  you are correct, the tailor shop klickies have green and yellow arms.

the bakery shop chains
the inner diameter of the ring at each end is 4mm and the end to end length of the chain itself is 109mm.
hope this is helpful.

i love the details in this set.  i never knew there were roman numerals over the bakery window  AD-MCMLXXVI.  love it.

Oh yes, you're right... I was looking at the tailor shop klickies....

The only difference between the first versions and the newer versions is the tristing arms on the klickies. nothing else. Maybe the small ''teeth'' on the floors, keeping them on the ''wooden'' frames. the earlier versions of them had long ''teeth'' the newer shorter!

Thank you for measuring the chains for me! Much appreciated!! :)
