ok all done!   :love:

I think you got them right Gordon, but I don't agree with PM instructions  :P
I know nothing almost nothing about sailing but some of the rigging (?) make no sense to me. Most of all the back sail.
So made my own version based on the fishing boat which I think is the one that better shows how it should be.
I'll try open a topic about it.
Thanks!  :wave:

Actually Gaston, Gordon's pic is exactly how it should be done. you see this way, sail movement is restricted this way, as wind coming from the back and sides of the ship can have bat concequences on the sail and rigging if its not done this way  ;)

the hook is called gaff in nautical terminology: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/gaff

you mean the way the rope goes around the top of the mast to the dobble hook in the sail? that could be ok, I don't really know.

But I was meaning the lower rigging in the sail. (there's no pic of that) You are the expert Panos but to me (IMHO) this sail must take the lateral wind and transform it into a forward force so it MUST be able to move from side to side depending on which direction the wind is coming, right?. Like any vessel, right? so if we do it like the PM instructions suggests we get the sail fixed in the middle of the ship with no posibility of movement. Unless Im absolutly wrong about the porpouse of that sail.  :P :P :P

The opposite happens in the pirate ship 3940. That end of the sail is absolutly loose (this must be only for play benefit) but in real life that thing moving free from side to side of the ship can be really dangerous for men and ship.

Oh OK I see what you mean... have a look at my attached pics. the sail is not fixed, as in standing motionless at its place. As you see, at the end of the lover rigging allows the sail to shift from left to right, like in every real life ship and sail, to allow maneuverability. You can adjust the rope, make it longer or shorter, to make make the sail more or less movable  ;)

that's exactly what I meant... but I still don't see how it works if the ropes are tied to the back of the hull  8} 8} 8}
sorry we are going off topic....let's go private and then post the result for those interested  ;)
