Oh wow Luis!!! Bill is right!! This is an awesome collection of the eskimo theme!!! I love and wish I had it...

Thank you for all these pics! These LYRA sets were a great hit back then!

what is the lettering under the word PLAYMBIL? that does not look greek.  ???   arabic?

Actually Lyra was exporting toys in arabic countries, thus the arabic writting on the boxes. Cyprus has nothing to do with it.  It was a really big and important company, before it went wrong, broke, and shut down...

Playmobil sued that company for keeping its moulds and making unlicenced products, one of the owners as far as I know ended up in Jail and the other left the country. I visited their factory when i was really young with my Dad  and I was given toys as presents , lovely memories i must say.

That's a theme I've always thought was both unusual for a toy but also very attractive.  If I had them they wouldn't still be in sealed boxes as I couldn't resist opening them and setting them up.

In 1999 to 2001 I had 6 igloo sets, 3 kayak & sled dog sets, with multiple individual Eskimo figures with polar bears on ice bergs, some sets came MISB, but I had to open & display them. Along with the Artic polar research Sno Cats, but due to a personal situation I was required to sell them,......it was heart wrenching! :( I never got any of the Lyra sets you have though, just the German releases. Your's look really cool :)9!

don't worry bill they are around if you really want them you'll get them again one day .especially if you want a used one it's not that difficult to find and expensive  ;)

These sets is a good reminder of how FAR BETTER was the quality of Playmobil Plastic for Klickies and larger items in the late 80s and especially in the mid 90s which the best of Playmobil in my opinion was ever produced ( Thus the as I call it ' Golden Era for Playmobil 1991-2001)

The themes back then were far mor educational and constructive for Children than the junk thems of spy agents and all that ugly space sets that are out now. Hans Beck wouldnt be happy and wouldnt never never approve these themes and all those ugly angry playmo unshaved etc faces, ridiculs if you ask me .

These Eskimoos is a testament of how better was Playmobil back then and good proof that things have gone completewly wrong in the design of new sets if you ask me .

I shall stick to the old sets and despise all these ugly, violent new sets, i aint buying them for my ( future) kids !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
