Loose Hats

It seems every single set I have gotten lately that has hat-hair klickys, the hats are so loose they WILL NOT stay on. It's getting really irritating. Quality control is lacking in this area lately. The one saving grace of hat hair is that the klickys can wear hats (obviously) so if the hats aren't going to stay on, what's the point? :-[

Anyway, my question is, has anyone figured out a way to fix these loose hats? Have you been able to tighten the hats somehow? One of the hats I'm having trouble with is a visor, so filling in the gap to make it tighter isn't really an option, because you will be able to see it. Any ideas?

This is very annoying Bonnie. I have yet to experience this problem but have not bought any newer sets recently.

What about a little bit of blu-tac?

Yeah, I guess that would work for full hats. The visor would be hard though, because it will show.

If the visor is white cut a small piece of paper the same dimension as the strap & in as many thicknesses until tight & slide it in between the wig & strap.

I've noticed that the Egyptian helmets seem to be VERY loose on my klickies, which is quite irritating! :(

Try swapping the hair... keep trying until you find the suitable hair! Somewhat crazy but thats how I dealed with this problem!

Thanks for the advice, Panos.  I've tried this in the past and it worked, but it seems like more hairs don't work with the helmets than do! :(

I had the problem of getting a hat to stay on a klicky yesterday and eventually solved it simply by trying different positions until it clicked on properly with a bit of extra pressure towards the rear of the top of the hat.

Panos's advice about trying different heads of hair is also good.  Some hair has a flattened section at the back, some is entirely circular and others has a slight indentation at the rear.  When you consider, too, that some hats are entirely circular inside and others have a projection inside at the back, it's no surprise that getting hats to fit is sometimes a problem.

The hair and hats with the insertion point at the rear are old school playmobil Gordon. They stopped producing these back in the late 80's. The flat part at the back started in the early 90's.

Maybe this whole problem is in quality control again, like the loose chassis, and the armgreaves that prevented some helmets to sit good on the head... at least they fixed that last one and the breatplate that used to have two wings extended over the shoulders...that did not allow helmets to sit well on heads either...
