Raven - 4290 Pirate Ship Custom
« on: March 06, 2011, 16:23:00 »
I started painting some ships in January and I've only just found the time to set up a small backdrop to take some pictures to share with you all.

My first one is 4290 the convertable pirate ship. Originally it had a red hull with tan deck. I dismantled the ship and spray painted the deck and masts black. I then hand painted all the extra details in gold and added gold and blue stickers along the edge of the hull.

I've even decorated the cannons.

This ship has a reversible figurehead so I've added a painted raven to it and named the ship front and back.

As you can see from above I've also handpainted the cabin windows.

Improvise, adapt, overcome ..... If all else fails FAKE IT!

:omg: Emma, your choices of color combinations are superb! I wish Playmobil would take notice of your choices! You've converted a plain, boring ship into a spectacular creation, with simple, yet striking effectiveness! Simply outstanding! :wow:
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!
