Playmobil Clinic #5012
« on: March 03, 2011, 20:40:35 »
I know I'm way too new here to be asking favors, but I really hope someone will help me. I found a small clinic on ebay.de. I wonder if someone who speaks/reads German can figure out which seller ships to the US, and has the best overall price? Thanks in advance! (I've been trying to post some pics of the set, and I was making some progress until I was told my files were too large. I have no idea (yet) about resizing photos.)  :eh?:

Your best bet is to look for the word "weltweit" which means worldwide as the chances are if they ship outside Germany it will either be to the rest of Europe or Worldwide.  To calculate the postage cost use the seller's drop down list, if they have one and the US is Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika. The price should then come up.

Don't know what the exchange rate is from US dollars to Euros, but if you work out your limit in Euros beforehand, that will save you doing your sums for every single seller.

Hope this helps a bit.

As far as resizing photos, sign up for a free account with image shack or photo bucket. I reccommend photo bucket, but others would disagree. After you load your pics to one of those hosting websites, you can resize them. Hope this helps!  :wave:

Bad Mum's advice is sound.  As regards postage, if the USA isn't mentioned, ask the seller.  Many, maybe most, German sellers understand English.  Somewhere on eBay there is an exchange rate conversion page which will tell you the current rate of exchange between currencies, but these can of course alter from day to day.

Bad Mum! and playmofire: Thanks for the good advice in regard to navigating ebay.de. I'll see what I can do.

bonniebeth: Thanks for the info. I signed up for a photo bucket account and uploaded pics. Now I need to know which size to selcet. Thanks so much!

(I won't always be so needy!)

I use 640 x 480. It's no problem at all!

Hi Toyologist, :)

I already have this set so I can tell you that I don't think you'll be disappointed with it....as soon as I saw it I decided it was a must-have for me! :love:

I bought mine from the German seller spielzeugalarm_aachen as it was the cheapest overall cost for the item combined with 48hr delivery to the UK, and I was very happy with the overall transaction.  ;D

The only additional advice I would give would be to check the payment methods accepted before buying as very occasionally you will come across a German seller who does not accept Paypal. 8}

Claire: Thanks for the additional insight. I think I found the best deal available, being limited to sellers who would ship to the US. I put all the sets that stated "weltweit" (thanks again Bad Mum!) on my ebay watch page. From there it was pretty much clear English. The seller I've settled on will even ship additional items free of charge! Now, I just need to see what else she has that I can't live without.  ;D
