The Alliance strikes!
Rutileo and Ceragem forces sail to the Empire's land,
aiming for a spot in their defense that has been ignored.
They converge upon 2 legions that have been stationed on a hill.
They are joined in full by Ithaca forces,
and so the battle went.
One of the legions was stationed on the hill,
while the other was stationed just a few hundred meters away.
King Talos, and King Kellanved forces engage the Empire's,
While Aun Kerac prepares for the signal that the kings had devised previously.
King Talos and the hosts of Ithaca draw the Empire away from the hill,
allowing a gap to form in the Empire's line.
Rutileo takes the opportunity and dives behind enemy lines.
From there they attack the flanks of two of the Empirical groups,
Weakened by the attacks from Ithaca and Ceragem,
the Empire troops falter, causing a rout.
Ithaca routs an Empire unit,
and Ceragem and Rutileo squeeze the will to fight out of another unit.
One of the Empire units is caught in the rout,
though their moral is failing, they hold out from running away as well.
After the dust clears, they have no time before Rutilian forces bash their lines,
leading with their cavalry.
Their hearts sink, and they flee,
though normally Rutilian forces would have been no match
for a 500 strong unit of Empirical forces.
Meanwhile, across the battle field.
Ithaca engages two other Empire troops.
Ceragem routs the unit they had previously engaged,
and Ithaca manages to stave off the attacks of the Empire
long enough for them to loose heart.
They flee,
and the only unit left surrenders.
Victory!
The southwest of the empire is in Alliance hands,
and 2 legions of the empire disband and flee.
Though no doubt they will return to the army in time,
the men we have left alive will only equal 1 legion!
This is a glorious day of victory for the Alliance.
Though odds were far against them they pulled victory from defeat,
with surprise on their side, and a large tactical and cavalry advantage.
The next target will be difficult to defeat,
but if the Alliance pulls it off, they may be able to sue for peace.
