The chronicles of Mittland Part 02 Time of the dragons

„With these words HADOR terminated his story. Some minutes they sat being silent at the table. Everyone followed to his own thoughts. Many questions burned TURAS on the soul, but only one finally came over his lips, „what is now to do for us? “

„You are surely for the first time. I will ask the wolves to be particularly watchful. “ In the meantime the sun had disappeared behind the trees. It became night. While HADOR told, the one-legged man had prepared a meal. After the meal HADOR said, „rest now! We want to discuss tomorrow, what is to be done. “ 

[Vauban]

TURAS and LILIAN took their things and put to sleep in the chamber. HADOR remained at the table, took a pipe out of his pockets and kindled it. The one-legged man stepped to him, „he is an magnificent young boy. You can be proud on him. “

[Vauban]

 „Yes, I am that also. And nevertheless, I wished, he would have had to receive nothing from all that. I wished him a simple life. LILIAN seems to be a nice girl to me. “

[Vauban]

„A simple life? “the one-legged man laughed up, „which is nowadays still simply? The fear of ARTRAC and his myrmidons determines the life of humans. This is not a worthwhile life." He regarded to HADOR provocatively. „When do you will tell him the remainder?“ he wanted to know. „Which remainder? I said everything to him" , HADOR answered decidedly.  „It is his fate… “, began the one-legged one.

[Vauban]

 „Fate! Nonsense! When I hear already such a thing … It is his fate to become  a lucky young man with a beautiful woman at his side. Otherwise there is no fate! Good night. “ HADOR was deeply annoyed. He rose and went to bed like LILIAN and TURAS.

[Vauban]

The one-legged man remained sitting still for a while. Then he murmured into his beard, "Arn, my old friend,  I wished, you would be here. Perhaps you would know an advice."

The next morning LILIAN and TURAS came into the room. They found the one-legged man sleeping on the bank. Quietly they crept past at him to the door.
