Likewise I didn't have Playmobil as a child, so no sentiments involved, but I do now have a mixture of old and new Klickies and I think I do slightly prefer the new ones as they appear to have more personality.

Having said that, though, I usually find a hair swap usually does the trick.

I buy a lot of my Playmobil from EBay and I have ended up with a lot of lady Klickies with blue arms and legs and white dresses.  I nickhamed them the Zombie Nurses because if you group them together they look a bit creepy. But by swapping hair over* and making a few of them blonde, they look more like individuals who deserve names

Now I have been made to think about it, I suppose we do discriminate a little between old and new. The older ones tend to end up as "extras" in the same way as film extras when we are playing. They don't get the speaking parts and are the ones who end up being stuck in burning buildings and get rescued, or make up the queue at the airport, or sit on park benches.

* You'll find as you get to know me better that I have an objection to hat hair on an individual who does not necessarily need to be wearing a hat  ::)

I'm with you there! Even as a kid, I hated the hat hair if they weren't wearing hats. (that said, I think the hat hair system is brilliant for holding a hat on) None of the people in my zoo have hat hair, except one or two men wearing baseball caps.   :playmo:

In the end, we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught.

The author of this book customize the HAT-HAIR, which is quite what you should try

i like old klickies but just to collect/display them but not to make artistic photos with them - nor do i like to mix them with modern klickies, the combination just looks odd

unlike Bonnie, i don't think i love the newest figures - i find most of those new hairs styles stupid looking, and so many details are annoying to me

the figs i like best to take pictures of and to customize (and pretty much do most of my stuff with) are the ones from the mid/late 90's and early 2000's

I don't like the 'meanie' eyebrows.

what?! evil eyebrows are the best! :D
Enjoy the elegance and fun of 1900 with The Victorians photo story! :gent: ;D :sherlock:
