What a splendid idea

Those who have followed my thread in the Photography & Graphic section about my participation to Photographic Contests on Playclicks.com ( Spain ) and Tricornejock.com ( Germany / France ) already know how much fun this has been since I decided to join my first contest back in 1989 on Playclicks.com.
I must admit that I had never taken a picture of a klicky prior to February 2009 but when I started my victorian tales, I decided to select a few pictures to list in the competition and there started a thread which has already seen more than 4000 visits so far

It is just about having fun and sharing with other members your own vision of Playmobil.
I am personally for a non monthly theme in order to give everyone a chance to participate but once the concept will be in place but we could organize a Christmas special which is always popular.
The Photographic Contests on both Playclicks.com and Tricornejock.com are always involving great mutual respect, good spirits and the results speak for themselves as the creativity and imagination of our Friends from the online communities are just limitless !
I believe that one should consider keeping the things simple with :
- a dedicated section including one picture posting thread in which the members can post their own picture
- one related thread for the comments of the members
- one thread for the vote
These three new threads being created every month and so on.
The most important thing is to appeal to each and every member for as long as the picture is their own creation.
When it comes to associating a picture with a member, I believe that most of us recognize certain members with their style so it may be a good idea to let the members post their monthly picture. Playclicks.com and Tricornejock.com both show the picture and the name of the member and it has never been an issue.
It is just about appreciating the fact that a member made the effort of thinking of a picture, taking it and sharing it with the community so this commands respect whether one likes the picture or not.
I have learned over the years that creativity and imagination are far from being the sole possession of experienced Collectors and I have seen some amazing pictures taken by new members who won the contest as they took everyone by storm.

As an example, I remember a klicky locked in a jar of coffee which was such an amazing picture yet so simple as it did not require any decor or accessories, it is just about imagination.
Playmofriends has demonstrated in the jousting tournament and other initiatives the incredible talent of its members and I believe that it is about time that our favorite Playmo Forum has its own photographic contest
