Ah you can't have the cake AND eat it. People want a safe world, and a safe world is what they're getting.
That's not going to make the world safe. It's only going to make people more dangerous because they won't know what to do and will be less careful (and hence less safe).
It's like "safe" cars with anti-lock brakes, crumple zones, airbags, etc - it hasn't made people safer drivers, just the opposite - they rely on their "gizmos" and don't pay as much attention or focus their driving skills.
The same has been proven with bicycle helmets.
