How long...
« on: January 19, 2011, 13:30:38 »
does the flashing light lasts in 3166 - Intervention Team Truck (INT) ? Can anyone tell me?

I just received one second hand from ebay and it lasts 9 seconds... this looks strange to me as the newer flashing lights hold about a minute...

Thanks in advance!

I've just tested one of that design and it flashes for just over 2 minutes.  The new style, low profile light on the ambulance flashes for just over 3 minutes.

Thank you Gordon! Maybe there is something wrong with mine then... I have a used 3904 - Police Car as well but never tried his lights. Will do so once I get back home and see what happens...

I was thinking maybe the flashing holds less on these older lights, but your fact shows otherwise.

That's one of my favorite things about playmo vehicles is that they really flash for a long time. It's long enough for kids to play out a big emergency scene, long enough to set up and take pictures, whatever, without having to hit the button on each vehicle constantly.

It may be that the set time has been altered by Playmobil over time.  Somewhere I have another one of the old type and I'll find that and test it.  How long does the one you have flash?

9 second only  :(

The early lights on the 3880 flashed that length of time too.  I shall conduct more research and let you know.

PS:  I've just remembered that I have the German version of this truck close to hand so I'll test it tomorrow for you.

Thank you Godron! I've just checked the 3904 lights, which are the same as the 3166, and they flashed for two minutes! but now they don't flash at all... :(

These are the new ones right? Good idea... they are more flat and better looking... Do they fit the older cars?.... I'll check it right now.

----edit---

yeap they do!

But the question would again be... where do I buy them from? no DS for individual parts here... :( unless you can help me again with DS UK?
