Skywalker Castle Diorama - Making of - Part 1
« on: January 15, 2011, 23:35:04 »
Hi,

just wanted to show some pics of my castle diorama which i am working on at the moment.  i think it will be ready tomorrow - hopefully. i will show 4 pics i allready showed in my collection / world threat but i think it makes sense as they show also the process from the beginning
so there is a lot missing at the moment - mostly more rocks, grass ( a lot ) and of course all the medieval playmos that are waiting to move in ;D

This is absolutely awesome, skywalker! Your methods could also be used if someone wanted to do a basement for a house or build a subway under a playmobil city. Thanks for showing us the process in more detail!

Absolutely amazing!  :o I love the area you created inside of the cave, especially with the ladder. It creates an wonderful backdrop as well! I really appreciate all the pics of the process, but I am anxious to see the result  :**:

This is truly astounding, especially how the Playmobil buildings and the scenery blend together so perfectly.  It's given me an idea for a two-tier layout with train circuit underneath, the station will need to be in the open, and a town area on the top.

Many thanks for sharing and look forward to seeing more.

(I'm glad you've separated this project out from the other thread and are going to have a number of threads, one for each part.  It's much easier to follow that way.

thx everybody !!!

playmofire : i wanted to do a tunnel for the trains and i needed a hill for the castle. so i combined the two parts. the hilltop is removable so i can reach easily the inside of the tunnel , also it´s possible to get there from behind. therefor i just have to move the hill a bit to the front.when planning a subway ( which is a great idea !!! ) some upper parts of the city should be easily removable to reach the rails if there is a problem. to have lesser problems with the rails i get the 1,20 meter rails which are great. i found out that even a little difference in the height of the rails can cause problems so this is also a bit tricky.
